If you haven't been to the Cirque du Soleil now is your chance, the latest show from the Canadian ensemble is here in Madrid from the 13th of November until the 4th of January. The first time I saw a show by the group I had just had all my wisdom teeth removed simultaneously. It's true. Groggy from all the anesthesia and completely unable to feel my face, I was sitting in a so-so seat, with a column blocking part of my view, sipping away at a coke on a straw, my brother kept having to reposition in my mouth in order to avoid spillage my numb face wouldn't notice. You would think the evening would be saved in my memory in the lame as du du file, but no, even just thinking of the main song of that show now, Allegria, comforts me with a warm glowing smile. Maybe I was extra sensitive from the dental drugs, but really, it was one of the loveliest audience experiences I've had. The Cirque du Soleil is a moving touching awe inspiring show for the whole family, which will make you happy even if you've had teeth pulled out. Varekai, which means "anywhere" in the gypsy Rumani language is the current show by the group. Dominic Champagne directs this celebration of the nomadic spirit, the story of Icarus’ voyage through the mind, surrounded by magical creatures and moments of fantasy. Don't miss it.
